Chad Sheehan began his Law Enforcement career in 1994. On November 3, 2020 he was elected as the 34th Sheriff of Woodbury County, IA. Sheriff Sheehan has worked in multiple capacities throughout his career including the Hostage Negotiation Unit, Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, Community Policing Unit, Honor Guard member and a Critical Incident Stress Management team member. Sheriff Sheehan developed the “S.A.V.E. Yourself” program and is a certified instructor in Rapid Response to active shooter, Conflict Resolution, Tactical Communication and DARE. With young children at home Sheriff Sheehan has made surviving workplace violence/active killer a top priority in both his professional and personal life. "S.A.V.E. Yourself" has been taught to over 300,000 people from 28 states since January 2014. Additionally, he has provided training in crime prevention topics to hundreds of businesses and schools while educating thousands throughout his career.
Sheehan Strategic Solutions, LLC will use Chad's expertise to provide training/consulting to civilians in the area of surviving violence with an emphasis on surviving the threat posed by workplace/school violence and today's active killer.
Training will focus on prevention, recognition and a proactive response. Emphasis will be placed on the proactive response to violence.

Chief Deputy Tony Wingert is a 28 year veteran of the Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office and Lead S.A.V.E. Yourself instructor for Sheehan Strategic Solutions. For the Sheriff’s Office Tony has taken on many responsibilities including being commander of Investigations, the SWAT Team, Canine Division, Civilian Clerks, and Courthouse Security. He is currently commander of the Jail. He has worked every patrol shift, Field Training Officer, member of the K-9 team with two separate canine partners, was part of the SWAT team for 15 years, and was assigned to the Tri-State Drug Task Force for four years.
Tony is a certified instructor in Firearms, ASP Baton, and Combat Rifle. He has also completed basic, advanced, and command officer SWAT team training, Criminal Interdiction, Drug Interdiction, Clandestine Laboratory School in Quantico, Virginia, and Basic Drug Enforcement Agent School in St. Louis, Missouri. Tony is a certified instructor in law enforcement response to active shootings and S.A.V.E. Yourself training for civilians.
Officer Andrew Dutler is a 7-year veteran of the Sioux City Police Department. Andrew has worked uniform patrol and was selected to represent the department in the role of Public Information Officer in 2017. He has trained over 25,000 people in the healthcare, education, retail, office, finance, worship, and industrial sectors on Active Shooter, personal safety, crime prevention, tactical communication, and dealing with individuals in crisis. His proven tactics have helped businesses, churches and schools lower the perception and occurrence of crime, while also fostering empowerment through his passionate delivery style. Andrew is a member of the Hostage/Crisis Negotiator Team where he has been lead negotiator on several hostage and crisis incidents that have resulted in peaceful conclusions. Additionally, he fulfills roles as a Verbal Defense and Influence Instructor, Mental Health Instructor, S.A.V.E. Yourself® Instructor, and achieved the CPTED Professional Designation (CPD) from the National Institute of Crime Prevention.
Andrew comes from a background of mental health and substance abuse counseling. He has his Master’s Degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and spent five years working residential treatment where his primary focus was environmental-safety management and crisis intervention, while working with criminal and addictive thinkers.
Andrew’s unique background provides a unique blend of expertise in preventing crime and responding to volatile situations with intention and tact. He has a distinct understanding of the unpredictability of human behavior and brings that viewpoint to his work. Andrew is also the owner of Ultimate Security Consulting™, LLC.
Curran has over 25 years of private and public service experience in organizational and project management. He is a proven instructor with extensive experience conducting technical, leadership, and conflict management training. As a trained mediator and facilitator, Curran is recognized as a leader of leveraging collaborative, interest based processes to develop sustainable and effective organizational solutions for a wide variety of disciplines.
Curran develops and implements effective organizational assessment tools, utilizing surveys and focus groups to capture accurate and actionable qualitative and quantitative organizational data. He has a unique ability to leverage data collection, gap analysis, action planning processes, and strategic plan development to help organizations develop long, mid and short term plans and goals. Curran is a recognized leader in utilizing project appropriate processes to help organizations address specific issues and needs. He is also an organizational leader in the development and implementation of effective conflict management systems.
Curran has extensive and specialized training and experience in the development and implantation of a wide range of security protocols. He is a recognized expert in applying real time behavioral assessment into actionable threat mitigation. Curran has over ten years experience in leveraging dimensions of organizational health into measurable improvements of organizational security posture.
Curran brings a unique perspective and ability to leverage effective and proven practices in security design, conflict management, leadership and organizational development to improve organizational mission effectiveness. For Curran, helping organizations be more effective for their employees, customers, and stake holders is time and effort well spent. Going one step further, he strongly believes that being able to directly tie specific actions to measurable organizational results is time and resources wisely spent.
Detective(Retired) Kevin McCormick is a second-generation law enforcement officer.
On April 29, 2013 Kevin was shot in the head during an ambush attack on a traffic stop. Kevin survived the incident and brings his real life experience to the S.A.V.E. Yourself training.
During Kevin’s years of service with the Sioux City Police Department he received numerous awards including: Officer of the Year, Purple Heart Medal, A.T.F. Honor Award, Western Iowa Tech Distinguished Service to the Community, Community Team Policing Award.
Kevin is a certified Smith & Wesson Armorer, Certified instructor in S.A.V.E. Yourself and Verbal Judo.
Kevin is always giving back to the community through his involvement with and being a board member for numerous groups in the Sioux City area including: Dismas Charities, Mental Health Association of Siouxland, BOOST-FF and First Tee of Siouxland.
Kevin is a dedicated father and husband and makes it his mission to educate and EMPOWER people to survive. He offers a unique perspective on survival and what it takes to live.
