OSHA General Duty Clause

Under OSHA’s General Duty Clause employers are required to provide a safe work environment for employees that is free of known hazards. Workplace violence is a recognized hazard.

 Employers who do not take reasonable steps to prevent or abate a recognized violence hazard in the workplace can be cited.
